Promoting Hotels Online

It seems that it is possible to look at and buy anything online nowadays. From firms specialising in International removal to Italy to dating agencies, it seems that everybody has a website presence.

One of the biggest industries to have benefited from having an online presence is the travel industry, and specifically accommodation providers such as hotels. In the past, it might have been that a hotel gained its clientele from word of mouth, or by a mention in a guide book. Now though, people can use the internet to find them as well.

To this end it is important that hotel owners that do not have a web presence address this as soon as possible. They will surely be losing out on business otherwise. There are normally two options for a hotel to advertise itself online.

The first one, is to have a website of its own. This can list details such as the types of rooms available and the prices, along with some photos. If it is optimised correctly, this should also appear in search engine requests typed in by internet users. For example, a hotel in Leeds, should work towards its results in a search engine appearing in the first page when someone types 'hotels Leeds' into the search engine.

The second option, is to become a member of a hotel website booking company. These companies will advertise the hotel through their own online booking site, but will charge a percentage of any booking taken through the website.
